Where do we join, and what do we review after class?

A teacher schedules a class and shares its materials. Students join in the browser and return afterwards to the resources available for that class.

  1. 01Check the class time and materials before joining.
  2. 02Join from a browser with the permissions the session needs.
  3. 03Review shared materials and any available recording or summary.

The useful difference

What is Classroom?

Schedule and join live classes in the browser, share materials and review attendance. Recording and transcription depend on class settings and permissions. Class summaries and recordings are available only when generated or recorded.

Recording is optional and depends on settings and permissions. A recording or summary appears only if it was created for the class.

From question to action

How Classroom works

  1. 01The teacher schedules a live class and shares materials before it starts. Students join with a link.
  2. 02Join the browser video room and share materials. Attendance is tracked; recording depends on the class settings and permissions.
  3. 03After class, review shared materials and any available summary or recording.

Two sides of learning

Made for your part in the lesson.

For students

  • Join the live class from a link in your browser, through a short waiting room.
  • Attendance is taken when you join; no separate roll call.
  • After class, find the materials, any available summary or recording, and rate the class.

For teachers

  • Schedule a class with its topic, audience and materials, and start it within its time window.
  • Run the live room: manage participants, share materials, end the class for everyone.
  • Afterwards, review attendance, the class ratings and your own notes.

Studying in India

School work. Entrance prep. One evening to fit it in.

A board-exam answer and a timed entrance question need different practice. Work out whether today’s gap is the concept, the written explanation or the speed of your attempt.

Use a chapter question to check your CBSE, ICSE or state-board understanding. If you are also preparing for an entrance exam, keep its question format and revision tasks separate from school homework.

Choose your board, class and subject. Check the exam catalogue for available JEE, NEET or other exam coverage instead of assuming every paper is included.

Before you start

Classroom questions

Does Virtual Classroom take attendance?

Attendance is tracked. Recording is optional and permission-dependent. Summaries and recordings are shown only when they are available for the class.

Do students need to install anything?

No. Students join with a link in the browser. Flow is a Progressive Web App, so there is nothing to download.

Who can run a Virtual Classroom?

Teachers at an institution on Flow. Teacher and classroom features are institution features, so the school sets up teachers and sections first. Once that is done, a teacher signs in with the same Gyanis account as everywhere else.

Keep the learning connected
