Questions about Ask Gyanis

What does Ask Gyanis do?

Select webpage text, right-click Ask Gyanis and edit it in the chat box. Click Send for a Flow answer. Ask follow-ups or continue the conversation in Flow.

Which browsers can I use?

Desktop Chrome and Firefox use a sidebar. Safari on macOS uses a companion window. These are preview packages for manual testing; store links appear after approval. Safari resources need packaging and signing before installation.

How do I connect my account?

In Ask Gyanis, choose Open Flow connection. Sign in if asked, click Connect browser extension, then Check connection in the sidebar. Use the same browser profile and keep the Flow tab open.

I’m signed in. Why can’t I send a message?

Chat needs a student or teacher role and active Flow access. Open Flow to check your role, plan and any required profile or consent steps. After resolving them, check access again in the extension.

Do I need a separate subscription?

No separate extension subscription. Your existing Gyanis student or teacher account, Flow access and usage limits apply.

What does the extension read or save?

Only the text you select through Ask Gyanis enters your draft. It is sent to Flow only when you click Send. The extension does not scan pages, read your clipboard or collect page URLs. Recent drafts stay in browser storage; they are cleared on browser restart, and drafts older than 30 minutes are not restored.

Does it support PDFs, images or diagrams?

This version accepts text only, with no PDF extraction or file uploads. Answers support Markdown, tables and maths. Open supporting diagrams and learning materials in full Flow. Browser-protected pages are not supported.

Why keep the connection tab open?

It connects the sidebar to your signed-in Flow session. Passwords and login tokens stay out of the extension. If the connection stops, reopen or refresh that tab, reconnect, then choose Check connection.
