- What is Ask Gyanis?
- Ask Gyanis is a text-only browser companion for Gyanis Flow. Select text on a supported webpage, right-click Ask Gyanis and review it in the chat message box. You decide when to click Send.
- Which browsers does it support?
- The developer preview targets desktop Chrome, Firefox and Safari on macOS. Chrome and Firefox use a sidebar. Safari uses a compact companion window. Browser-protected pages and PDF viewers are outside phase one. Approved store links appear on the browser cards when available.
- How do I install Ask Gyanis?
- Choose your browser above. The Chrome testing ZIP is loaded unpacked using Developer mode. The Firefox testing ZIP is installed temporarily through about:debugging and must be loaded again after restarting Firefox. Safari developer resources require packaging and signing; they are not an installable Mac app. Store installation links will appear as listings are approved.
- What do I do after installation?
- Open Ask Gyanis, choose Sign in / Connect, and sign in with your Gyanis account. Click Connect browser extension on the Flow connection page and keep that tab open. Then select webpage text, right-click Ask Gyanis, review your draft and click Send.
- Do I need another account or subscription?
- Use your existing Gyanis student or teacher account. Your Flow access, usage limits and account requirements apply. The extension does not include a separate AI allowance.
- Does Ask Gyanis automatically read or send webpage content?
- No. It receives only the text you select when you choose Ask Gyanis. The text is placed in your editable draft and is submitted to Flow only after you click Send. It does not scan other tabs, copy the rest of the page or collect page URLs.
- Why does a Flow connection tab stay open?
- The first version uses a signed-in Flow tab to connect the extension to existing Gyanis services. Keep that tab open while chatting. This lets Gyanis handle authentication without storing your password or login tokens inside the extension.
- Can I continue the conversation in Flow?
- Yes. Messages you send use Flow chat and its conversation history. Open in Flow continues the conversation on the website, where supporting learning materials can be viewed.
- Can I upload PDFs or images?
- Phase one supports text only. It does not upload files, capture screenshots or extract PDF content. You can edit the selected passage and add your own question in the message box.
- Are answers always correct?
- AI answers can be mistaken. Check important steps, facts and any source links against your course materials or with your teacher.
